BMC Etudes Project
Parker Concert Hall · Thursday, 23 July 2026 · 1:00 pm
Pianists collaborate directly with living composers to premiere new études written for the project.
The BMC Etude Project brings together pianists and student composers from Brevard Music Center’s Composition Institute to premiere new piano études written specifically for the project. Places are limited, giving selected pianists the opportunity to work directly with composers on new music.
In 2026, Herong Bai was selected by Jihye Chang as one of ten pianists and the project’s only high school pianist. She performed Stephen Elsinger’s Gratitude at Parker Concert Hall on 23 July. The concert programme lists her as “Herong Bai | Ningxia, China.”
