Research & Inquiry

I have spent much of my childhood trying to understand why we are taught to learn the same ideas over and over again, each time under a different name. What began as a way to save time for piano practice gradually became a habit of rebuilding entire subjects around the principles connecting them. I first did this with mathematics, then carried the same questions into economics, research, and public policy. I am interested in what happens when we stop treating formulas, markets, institutions, and people's lives as separate problems and begin examining the relationships among them.

Mathematics & Education

A Growing Structure of Knowledge

An independent inquiry into how mathematical ideas can grow across grade levels, developed through my own learning system and an original Chinese manuscript on systematic teaching and learning.

Economics & Public Policy

Markets, Information, and the Cost of Opportunity

From self-directed economics study to a team case study of port automation, a theoretical framework on information asymmetry, and questions about public finance and access to opportunity.

Mathematics & Music

Harmony as Numerical Ontology

An exploration of Bach’s counterpoint, musical structure and the mathematical relationships that can inform how I listen, study and perform.

Aviation Research

Flight Data, AI & Wind-Shear Detection | 2023–2025

My aviation research has ranged from analyzing more than 300,000 operational flight records to preparing and evaluating three-dimensional LiDAR datasets for an AI-based wind-shear monitoring project. Working alongside researchers and technical specialists, I contributed Python-based data processing, automated evaluation, comparative experiments, and scientific visualization.

Alongside my school curriculum and piano training, I have independently studied A-Level and AP subjects. In ninth grade, I scored 12 out of 15 on the AIME and qualified for the USA Junior Mathematical Olympiad with an index of 265.5. My economics distinctions include an Individual Gold Award in the National Economics Challenge, a National Team Silver Award, and SUPER ECON! Regional Overall Team Honor.
